Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year.

I hope that everyone had a restful holiday and is back and ready for another fantastic year.

Grade 12 students should brace themselves for a busy and exciting year.  It’s your final year at IST.  Make the most of it.

Grade 11 students will be making the leap into the IB Diploma Program.  Make sure you manage your time well and always keep a positive attitude.

Grade 9 students, welcome to high school.  We have a great year planned in Humanities.

Grade 9 – This week we will continue our discussion regarding Global Citizenship.  We will look at your survey results and read some different perspectives concerning what it means to be a global citizen.

Grade 11 Economics – This week we will simply continue our review of Microeconomics

Grade 12 Economics – We will be discussing obstacles faced by Developing Nations concerning progress toward economic growth and development.

Grade 12 TOK – Keep working on those essays!!!!

What are the characteristics of a good Global Citizen?  Do you fulfill those characteristics?  These are the issues we’ll be dealing with over the next couple of weeks in class.  Hope you enjoy the discussions.

Hello everyone.  We are now moving on to Macroeconomics.  This week we are concentrating on GDP and GNP.

Keep up the work on Development Economics!  Chapters 29-30 this week.

It’s time to work on the TOK Essays!!!  From now until it is due at the end of the month, classes will be devoted to this task.  Good luck.

This next week we’re going to cover quite a bit.  We’ll start by reviewing the protectionist measures that we covered this past week.  We will then move through Chapter 25 and begin on Chapter 26 by discussing exchange rates.  Make sure you read the material before class and are familiar with the new concepts.

We’re in our final push before the semester exams.  This next week we’ll be finishing up new material concerning economic models.  Remember to have read the readings in the handout by Monday’s class.

Grade 9 students have been busy studying the history and ideas that were central to the Indian Independence movement.  Next week, leading up to the exam, students should be completing all assigned readings, reviewing their notes, and asking questions if they do not understand any of the information.  Students have covered a lot of information and now it’s time to consolidate it all in order to prepare for the coming exams, December 7-9.
