Royal Palace in Bangkok, Thailand, with family

Since I was a little boy, I was fascinated by science and the natural world. I still remember sitting out in the fields in the Canadian countryside, fascinated by how crab spiders could match the color of the flowers they were hiding in. I had ant farms, tadpole collections, and was constantly looking for garter snakes and whatever bizarre creature I could find. Of course my mother was not always happy at finding some of my creatures on her kitchen table!

This website is a chance for me to share with you my love of science with the intent that you may gain a greater appreciation of “how things work”, and of the impact science has on our modern world. I have been influenced by a number of DP biology educators, who have inspired me to start this site. They, in my opinion, are awesome!  Mr Steve Harton, from Lyon International School in France has a wonderful site, Hartonlinebio.  We use this so much in class…thank you so much Steve!  On his site we also use the excellent PowerPoint Presentations done by Mr Steven Taylor from Bandung International School in Indonesia. As well, we  owe a lot to Mr John Burrell of Patana International School in Thailand for his very useful study note guide at Click4biology.

Students and parents will be able to find resources for Grade Ten Science, as well as DP Biology. You will find links to documents, websites, animations and video clips, as well as important dates for assessment.  I hope that as the site develops, you will find it useful and interesting, and stimulating.
