The children are working hard on their assessment task for the Caring for the Ocean unit. They have chosen to work independently, with a friend or in a small group and are making everything from books, to posters and games. We will be sending home an invitation to the Ocean Exhibition very soon, where they will share their knowledge on how to care for the ocean. Here they are busy at work!
WHEN:Wednesday 23 May

*The children need to be at school at 6:00pm if possible.
*They need to come to the classroom wearing their BLACK PANTS and
BLACK SHOES. (There is no need to worry about a yellow T-shirt if you don’t have one. We have yellow shirts for the children to wear. Any t-shirt will be fine.)

The children thoroughly enjoyed the science experiment today where they investigated ways to remove oil from water to rescue their ocean animal. After trying several different materials they discovered that a sponge worked best. Even with their greatest effort, they could not remove all the oil but most groups managed to remove most of it. It really gave them an understanding of how animals in the ocean would have to live after an oil spill. Please be sure to ask your child about what they discovered.
