Taking a glimpse at Nursery life!
Next Thursday, May 23rd will be the last Thursday Night Live of the school year. It is a fundraiser event for a teacher who used to work at IST who is now battling cancer.
I hope you all have had a relaxing and “banging” Spring Festival! During the IST Chinese New Year Week Nursery welcomed a new friend to our class, Enya. Please welcome Enya and her family to our class!
For Chinese New Year we celebrated by making lots of red in the art area, snakes for the Year of the Snake, and some red lanterns in Chinese class. We also participated in the week’s activities by making dumplings and all the children turned out to be expert dumpling folders. Here are a few pictures from the week. See you on Monday!
IST is looking forward to hear Robert Swan speak next week on 29 November to grades 3 and up. Mr. Swan is a polar explorer and an environmentalist who is dedicated to the fight against global warming. Visit the library blog to read more about Mr. Swan and see the resources we have available about polar regions and conservationism.

Mr. Swan’s presentation will be in the IST theater from 10:05 to 12. Parents are welcome. Buses will be available from Ao Cheng.
For the next two weeks of school we will be busy rehearsing for the Winter Show. The students need to wear BLACK trousers/pants/ tights with dark shoes and a plain shirt any color , any style as long as it has NO WRITING or DRAWINGS on it. Please send in their costumes on Thursday 29th November, so the children can pin a decoration onto the shirt and then we will keep them in school for the full dress rehearsal on Monday 3rd December. Please ensure that all items are clearly named. Thank you for all your support!
The ESC is running a Pink Ribbon Day this Friday. We are promoting that all students and staff wear pink and make a donation. The ESC will drop a donation box into your classroom on Thursday morning and collect it at the beginning of lunch on Friday. The class which collects the most money will enjoy free ice blocks sponsored by the ESC.
All money collected will be donated to TICC who will give it to assist in fighting breast cancer in Tianjin.
The best dressed PINK PERSON from each grade level will also win an ice block.
Thank you.
