We continued working on our family unit. We practiced the Chinese characters and explored ancient Chinese characters related to family. We discovered some interesting things about how the characters were developed. We also learned about antonyms.

In Chinese class we are learning about our family. We are integrating this unit with the homeroom. We learned a Chinese poem about family. We love the song Wo Ai Wo De Jia and are planning to sing it during our parent tea. Now we are making a family book to introduce our family.

Moon Festival is coming! K-2 students are making the Chinese circular fan. They enjoy doing it.
Introduction of first unit

IST students celebrated Chinese new year from Jan 16th to 20th. We had puppet show, dough figure, kite making and making dumpling during the week. We had temple fair at the end of week. The students really enjoyed it.

Grade 1 students are learning stationery. They are interviewing their classmates about stationery in Chinese.
Chinese Singing Competition

We had Chinese Singing Competition (K-2) in Chinese classroom on march 14th, 15th, 16th, 2011. We invited Chinese staff as judge. The students chose their favorite song. They really enjoyed it!
World Language Assembly
Dec 17
The first assembly in December was our World Language Celebration. Grade 1 kids learned a little rhymes and has performed proudly again in the PFO Winter Treats.
